Jesse and I had a blast at Ms. Zo’s first birthday bash. There was great food, lots of wonderful people, a beautiful sunset over the sound, a delicious smash mousse…
Well! I’ll show you:
So crafty, Mama made her a beautiful dress and a matching scrap banner for decoration!
Some great friends stopped by (my son Jesse!)
Colorful gifts for the Birthday Girl! (Her beautiful high chair in the background).
Big brother was running around with the other big boys trying to fish!
Mama’s and babies!
Look at that sunset! Perfect.
She wears that golden light so well.
This! Is the colorful smash mousse. Awaiting it’s fate.
I’ve been so busy lately and I’ve got to say, I love it so much.
I met this little guy, last tuesday. Ten day old Alex! He was very serious no matter how many times I stroked that sweet soft spot between his eyes, he was giving me this look:
I think he was telling me he didn’t want to sleep anymore, because he spent half the shoot dreamily looking around his beautiful new home.
This was a fun angle I haven’t tried before. This kid had some awesome hair.
How beautiful is this family? I’m so happy they wanted to be in the shot with Alex.
Not a lot of new moms (or dads for that matter) want to get infront of the camera. I’ve been there guys, I know you feel tired and covered in poop, but there will come a time when you try to remember those days and they look like a blur. You’ll wish you had a few perfect pictures to help you remember how small he was not too long ago.
Ah, look at me! My baby is turning one in a month and I’m already a mess.
I’m still blown away that this is my job. I am over the moon about it. I’ve got another session to blog about soon, so stay tuned!
Music: Grey’s Anatomy play list (really mellow and quiet, very good for late night editing). Coffee: My all time favorite Starbucks drink is a Pumpkin White Mocha (I go halvises on the pumps though, 2 each instead of 4 each). I’ve been downing half-cafs of those babies a ton this week. It keeps me going, but it doesn’t drive me up the walls.
Ok, so summer time is really busy for everyone down here at the beach, but now that the cooler air is blowing through, it’s time to slow down. Slowing down only means more time for photography! So I’m not really slowing down, but it’s a nice change.
This session (that happened mere hours ago) was more for me as an artist and a lover of ballet. Of course, I love my friend Leah and she gets to enjoy these photos, but I sought her out brought up the idea of doing a ballet shoot. I’m obsessed with pointe shoes and ballerinas and she’s been dancing since she was 3 (that’s 16 years folks!) so I knew she would be perfect.
And perfect she was, check it out:
Um. Can we say WOW? She’s so gorgeous.
We had such a great time and even though it was rainy and getting dark, I’m so glad we ended up taking a ton of amazing photos.
Also in EmiB news, my Erin Condren Life Planner arrived today! Can I just say that their customer service was impeccable. We are headed up to Maryland tomorrow night and I didn’t think I would get my planner in time (and I didn’t want it sitting outside all week), so they overnighted it!
It’s everything everyone raves about and more.
The words at the bottom reads “it’s a good day to have a good day”
Now that I have this perfect planner, I’m going to require a $50 deposit to book any and all sessions from here on out. I’m not crossing anything out or making any unpleasant marks in this planner people! Haha. I mean, I’ve always required a deposit, but this will make it official.
Lot’s of sessions coming up in the next month or so! Lot’s of exciting things I’ve never done before so stay tuned!
I’ve got to say, I have fun at all of my shoots, but my cheeks hurt after this one. I had such a blast with the F Family. Every so often I would snap a picture while someone was pulling someones hair, or crawling up someones back and Brittany just laughed and said “this is real life”. That’s what I love to capture. The real smiles, even if it’s silly or messy. Life is silly and messy, and I want you to have beautiful pictures of your real life.
See what I mean?
Beautiful.
This girl had me cracking up.
We found this sign on the pier and thought it would be great to have this picture on her wedding day. Doesn’t that just make you tear up a little bit. Littles grow up so fast.
I love this picture. {Don’t worry, his mama was holding him the whole time. Safety first!}
