Lady Bug Smash! | Cake Smash Photography, Germantown, MD

I loved this birthday theme and I loved even more, that adorable little Maddie brought her big sister Abby in for the fun! She stepped in for a few shots while Maddie took a break. These gals had some seriously awesome baby blues. Red was a great choice for decor. Check it out:

Piper – 5 Days New | Newborn Photography Germantown, MD

My favorite moments in photography are the ones I capture when no one’s ready. Sure, newborn photography is mostly sleepy poses that take a lot of patients and strategy, but the moments in between are just as perfect. Piper was determined to be my rule-breaker. I’ve photographed “newborns” that were 6 weeks old and surprised me by sleeping like a dream. So I thought at 5 days old, this session would be smooth sailing. This little lady had a different idea. She tried her best to keep at least one eye open the whole time. Luckily, she slept for a little bit. No matter what happened that day, I’m so pleased with the outcome.

Parents, this message is for you: Get In Those Pictures. I’m telling you, they are priceless, beautiful images that will be cherished long after you’re worried about how tired you look or what your roots looked like or what the scale says. Parenthood is beautiful in it’s rawest form. These precious days will pass by quickly and you’ll soon miss the days of middle of the night feedings and holding tiny feet in your hands. I sometimes joke that I’ll take the shots anyway and keep them to myself until you’re 80, when you’ll really want to see them.

As you can see, these pictures of this family together are nothing short of stunning.

Springtime Glow | Mommy and Me Session, Ashburn, VA

I’m not going to blab on too much. I’ve been busy unpacking and getting back on schedule after the move, but I did have time to stop by Virginia for an amazingly fun and beautiful session with little Miss Audrey and her lovely Mama, Rach. <3 The most glorious part was, we just ran around their gorgeous neighborhood. Audrey got to run around and be her adorable self, and I just tried to keep up! I’ll let these pictures do the talking. Sorry there are a million, I literally couldn’t pick favorites. Basically her whole album is here:

The setting sunshine + Audrey’s bright eyes = the best thing ever. Ok, let’s continue:

Yeah, I told you this neighborhood was gorgeous. Between the landscaping and these beauties, the hardest part of my job was only picking a few to edit!

Some of the most beautiful moments are the ones where you forget the camera is there and I get to capture the perfectly every day love between mother and daughter.

New Little Abigail | Germantown, MD Newborn Photography

I may say this too much, but I adore newborn sessions. I get to snuggle those sweet new little bundles of joy and capture those perfect little details that seem to grow and change every day. I am also so happy that Abigail’s beautiful mama was a part of the session too. I always wished I could freeze time in those quiet moments when I was rocking my Jesse to sleep,  and now Jasmine has them to cherish forever.

Spring Has Sprung! | Germantown, MD Family Photographer

I’m so happy I get to finally post these! This was actually a session I had a few weeks ago, but had to keep it on the DL until the photos were gifted on Mother’s Day. I can’t tell you how much I love this session. Not only is this one of my favorite families, but the COLORS. Beautiful spring light and fun flowers blooming all over the place. Of course these lovely siblings were bright and beautiful as always.

I really wanted to take some shots around their parent’s home (where these guys grew up). We had to sneak around a bit, but I’m so happy we had such a beautiful and meaningful location.
