Spring In The Capital| Maternity Photography; Washington D.C.

Most of my sessions lately have been in my comfortable in-home studio (since it’s been winter and cold and soggy outside). But since spring has (FINALLY) sprung, I am scheduling more and more outdoor sessions! I got to go on a little adventure into our fair country’s beautiful capital for this amazing maternity session. What  a better place to capture these special memories for a couple of Coast Guards expecting their first beautiful bundle!  It was a little windy and Sarah has gorgeous short hair, so we had to collaborate with Mother Nature and be a little creative. The lighting, the scenery, the couple, everything was so beautiful, it was such a dream to shoot! Enjoy!3

Mia turns Two! | Child Photography; Germantown, MD

So you all remember this rainbow cake smasher who came in on Valentines day to celebrate her first birthday:

Well she came back for another fun day in the studio now that she’s the big T-W-O! And we had such a blast. This little lady had me laughing from all of her sassy independence! She’s gonna be a CEO of a huge company one day, I just know it. She sure has the cutest little giggle in town, and I’m so glad we could just play around and get a lot of real deal smiles in this gallery.

30 & Fabulous | Portrait Photography; Germantown, MD

There is really something to be said about going outside your comfort zone for an artistic leap of faith. I almost didn’t do this session because it’s not what I normally do, but something told me to go for it. And guys, thank goodness I did, because It was a blast. We had music playing, coffee brewing, mimosas with fruit and doughnuts to much on, oh yeah, we had a little party during our session! It also reminded me of being backstage during a performance because it was a whirlwind of costume changes, laughter, bravery, curling irons and lipstick. Let me tell you, Celina and her friends Chrissy and Melissa totally worked it. And they are not professional models, although they totally could be if they wanted. I think everyone should have a session embracing their sassy sides.

Bring your friends over, split up a fun session and a bottle of champagne. We will have a blast.

Here Comes Baby Bryson | Maternity Photography; Frederick, MD

You may remember Sarah and Matt from this fun summer session last year?6

Well not too long after, I got an e-mail inquiring about a newborn session in the spring! Not only do I LOVE how far in advance she got in my books, but I have known Sarah since elementary school and I’m so happy for her to join in the ranks of Motherhood. So after rescheduling this session a ton of times for a ton of reasons, including a rather large snow storm, we finally got together to get some shots of that gorgeous belly! They brought along their sweet pup (and soon to be big sis) Maddie! This session is the perfect mixture of cozy winter-meets the glowing warmth of spring. Enjoy!

Katia and Javier wait for Sofia!|Maternity Photography, Germantown, MD

I am really loving the simplicity of shooting maternity sessions in my studio. These two were so adorable. And while your scrolling through these beauties, just know that Katia is wearing regular jeans. You know, the kind that zip and button. And she’s due in a few weeks. You go girl.1

You stare at those sonograms because it still doesn’t feel real. It doesn’t register totally that there’s a new little person in there. And years from now you’ll look back and remember that there actually was a time before you didn’t know that little persons every single detail.blog18blog29 blog3 11

Sofia was kicking her Daddy’s hand when I captured this moment. <313 Can you tell which schools they’re rooting for Sofia to attend? LOL. They’re rooting for their own!14 15It was so lovely meeting you two!
