Cookie Smash! | Cake Smash Photography; Germantown, MD

Another little brother cake smash session! I LOVE seeing my cake smash graduates coming back to me, and even BETTER when they bring another cute sibling along for THEIR cake smash!
Austin was an emiB newborn!

And I got to see him again a year later to celebrate the big O-N-E.

Wasn’t he such a cutie?! Wait till you see him NOW!
It’s always such a joy to catch up with parents and see how two kids is going with them since I’ve gotten another kiddo myself since seeing them last! Sweet Gavin was so serious at the beginning, but we became friends quickly! It may or may not have been the balloons I brought out, but I’d like to think it was just my jokes and silly sounds. 😉 Anyway, this kid was after my heart because his cake smash theme was chocolate chip cookies and we used a TEAL background – and basically, if I were to have a cake smash for myself, that’s exactly what it would look like! LOL Enjoy all the cuteness!!

Cullen – 10 Days New | Newborn Photography; Germantown, MD

I had another beautiful baby in my studio this past weekend. He was such a sweetie and I loved chatting with my dear friend Nicole about her awesome birth story and life so far as a mama. It’s one of my favorite parts of my job. Another favorite part is the fact that I have captured some pretty exciting milestones for her lately and adding this one gives me all the warm fuzzies!

Nicole actually MADE this blanket he’s sleeping on! How amazing is that? We had to get a few shots of them together.

Sweater Weather | Maternity Photography; Gaithersburg, MD

So this past week has had some CRAZY weather. We were in a deep freeze last weekend, with temperatures below zero, mid week it warmed up to the 50’s, just in time for my session with Nicole and John, it got freezing again and now it’s a snow day. I was BUNDLED and they strolled up in sweaters! I don’t typically do outdoor sessions in the winter, but I know this pretty spot in Gaithersburg that looks great, even in January. It’s cutely tucked right into a busy shopping center in the middle of town, but you would never know. Nicole and John make it seem like they are the only two people in the whole world when they look at each other and I love it! PLUS, their little boy is due on my son Zac’s birthday! If it wasn’t so darn cold outside, we could have chatted for another half hour for sure, but I wanted to get them out of the cold and I needed to get back into my car (with seat warmers- holla!!) and get the feelings back into my fingers. LOL! Warning: You’re definitely gonna get some warm fuzzies from looking at their session.

In My Daughter’s Eyes | Milestone Photography; Germantown, MD

Elizabeth had her first emiB session when she was just a couple of days new! Her mom had plans for a dress to be made for Elizabeth from her wedding dress and it wasn’t ready in time for her newborn session. Once it was done, we had to do a special session to honor such a beautiful gift. I had to sneak in a few shots of Mom’s wedding ring with the dress. Partly because I love diamonds, and also because those rings and that dress have met before, 7 years ago when Robin was saying I DO to Elizabeth’s dad. So beautiful. Elizabeth totally loves it too, you can tell!

I can’t believe how much bigger she looks 3 months later!

Side note.

Please tell me you guys remember decorating mix CDs for yourself and your friends? I basically survived my 20s on sharpie-decorated Mix CDs. I had a mix for each road trip I took, upbeat country jams for the beach, mellow music for studying, classic rock for late nights in the dorms, pop/dance hits for parties in our beach house when we lived in the outer banks, rejuvinating mixes for my drive to work when I was putting in 80 hours a week to pay for my wedding, motivational labor playlists when both of my boys were making their way out into our world, dance mixes when we have mid day dance parties- EVERYTHING. Songs and playlists shape my life. Songs take me back to special memories and feelings and that’s almost as wonderful as what images can do for our memory!
Feel free to follow along on Spotify and add some upbeat jams of your own!!
