MoOore Sneak Peeks!

I was just playing around with my photoshop collage templates from {Paint The Moon}. I thought I’d give everyone a few more sneak peeks from my first two newborn sessions. The cropping isn’t ideal since I had to fit them into different sized boxes, but you get the idea… 🙂

Leave some love!

Meet Grayson!

The newest addition to our family, my nephew Grayson! I had the pleasure of spending a lot of extra time with him on our short trip up to Maryland. We found out that he didn’t really care to be naked. We also found out that it’s dryer to keep his diaper on. (I got a few pee spots on me throughout the day). I also couldn’t help having a few fun pictures of him and Jesse together at the end of the session.

Daddy’s Tattoo made for such a beautiful photo:

And Mommy’s a bookworm, so we made her proud with this sweet pose:

Here’s one of our lil’ guys together. I can’t wait to keep taking these throughout the years.

And here’s a fun one I took after my earlier photo shoot with Jeni.

Now it’s off to bed. I can’t wait to keep editing these in the morning.

Editing Tunes: I have a spotify playlist for when Jesse is napping or in bed and I need to keep it quiet. It’s called Nap Time. Similar to my Colbie pandora, but this also has some Toby Lightman added to the mix, along with Colbie, Michael Buble, Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson.
Check it out here:

I’m always down for suggestions, so if you want me to be editing to something great, shoot me some music recommendations!

First Newborn Session!

I had such a fun time. I lifted up little Jeni out of her car seat and thought to myself, “I love my job.” Little babies! I love them. Of course she made mine look like a football player (ok, he kind of does that on his own…).

Sneak peek of little Jeni!!

I just drool over macro shots when I see other photographer’s work. I don’t have a macro lens yet, but a girl can dream right? Jeni is beautiful at any distance.

And I have another new man in my life, Jesse’s cousin Grayson who was born almost two weeks ago. We are headed up to meet him (and of course take his beautiful pictures). I’m so excited.
Go be it I shall.

My First Session!

We started early so I needed a delicious kick start that morning. My amazing Mother In Law Kathy picked this up for me! She was watching Jesse for me while I worked.

[Amazing iced decaf vanilla soy latte. Starbucks, you make my life.]

So, for the first session EVER, I think it was wonderful! It felt so natural and I had a lot of fun. The adorable siblings I had the pleasure of working with were so cute together and had a good time themselves, which makes for great images.

I learned a lot from this session. I learned to iron my backdrops, use real backdrop clips (instead of chip clips) and to shoot far away from the backdrop. But the most important thing I learned, was that I love this. I loved every step of it, and I can’t wait to do more!

[Here I am, waiting for my clients to arrive! I’m wearing white so the catch lights show that much better.]

Here’s a little teaser of Adrian and Daniela!

Very excited to have officially started! On my way to greatness. One smile at a time.

Editing music: I had my Oxygen (by Colbie Callait) play list on Pandora, so a lot of mellow, free spirited stuff happening. Jason Mraz, Sara Bareilles, Colbie Callait a little Taylor Swift in there, Jack Johnson, and the like.

The first post is the deepest.

First blog post! I can’t wait to start on this amazing new adventure. I’ve always wanted to do something beautiful and meaningful with my life, something I could be passionate about. I’ve also always wanted to be a mother. If there were a way to combine these two and still be able to afford my groceries, I would absolutely do it. In a heartbeat.

Enter {Traci}. She is my inspiration. My husband and I visited his side of the family in December 2011 and I watched in awe as Traci took Jesse’s pictures. I thought to myself, what an amazing job. She gets to play with babies and capture priceless memories for families every day. A day filled with baby hats, soft blankets, precious tiny smiles and best of all, a day spent at her own amazing studio at home with her boys.

This is it. This combines the beauty, the meaning, the stay at home mom thing, all in one amazing job.

So in one scary but exciting moment. I decided to change the outlook of my life and start down the road to starting and running my own business.

That’s the first step right? Acceptance. I have accepted my new fate.

Step two: I bought me one of these beauties. A Canon Rebel T2i:

[The lovely strap is from {Sassy Straps} she is also brilliant.]

I’ve been learning the in’s and out’s of this amazing camera, soaking up every single bit of information, advice, inspiration and techniques I could possibly find (practiced a ton on my own baby boy). I have 3 newborns on my calendar already and sometimes I lay awake at night, too excited to sleep.

I am in the process of step 3: Launching my business, spreading the word, finding more beautiful babies and capturing those precious moments.

I found this on Pinterest the other day:

And it is so true. I am terrified, and I love it.

So join me on this crazy, exciting, new road my life is taking. I’ll keep you updated!
