A Cozy Little Fall Family | Family Photographer, Frederick, MD

I hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving! It’s such an amazing feeling to wake up the day after a holiday and actually get excited to do work! I couldn’t wait to get this blog up for everyone and show off one of my very favorite families. Everyone loves that sweet little face of Mason’s and now we can see his awesome parents join in for a gorgeous fall family session! I will tell you, it was so super cold out while we were shooting, but the lighting and the fall leaves were so warm and beautiful. They totally rocked it and we got so many amazing shots.

His Aunt Katie tagged along and assisted behind the scenes, but I managed to get a perfect shot of her snuggling her little peach.

I hope everyone is staying warm inside or at least getting some great deals out in the crazy black Friday madness. I was thinking of having a Black Friday sale, but I think I’m cooking up a fun sale idea for sometime before the new year gets here. So stay close!

Music: Wrapped In Red by Kelly Clarkson is one of my favorite new Christmas songs, that whole album is really great (but I’m a sucker for Christmas songs)

Coffee: Now that Thanksgiving is over, I’m tossing pumpkin flavored things out in favor for gingerbread! YUM.

Sweet Seventeen (Days Old) | Newborn Photographer, OBX, NC

One of my favorite things about photography is the ability to stop time. Put it in a mason jar on a shelf and keep it exactly the way it was at that moment. I had another session with my beautiful friend Allison. The bun in her oven finished cooking and I got to meet sweet little Dax for the first time! I won’t chat anymore and let you go meet him too, because he’s adorable:
Beautiful Allison glowing and being amazing

He was giving me this serious look a few times. He was a little skeptical of me at first.

I can’t even handle this one. So. Squish. It’s almost like he’s in the womb again.

Current Music: The Nsync Christmas album has begun its playing in my house. Don’t judge. It’s still one of my favorites. Disclaimer: I usually don’t start decorating until Thanksgiving night, but it just felt right!

Pearls, Tutus and Cake! | Cake Smash Photographer, Frederick, MD

I was so excited for this session, you guys. I love cake smash sessions! What is more fun than capturing someone experiencing their very first birthday cake? How often in our lives do we get to enjoy the mess? I mean, don’t get me wrong, life is totally messy, but we usually spend our days cleaning messes and trying not to make them in the first place. Making messes is an important part of our lives! Ok, I’m getting philosophical. Messes are great! Haha, anyway…
Chloe here, had the most AMAZING set of eyes I’ve probably ever seen. She wasn’t much of a smile-er, but smiling for emiB is over rated. Her eyes showed all of the emotion she needed. She was giving me art like a professional model! Get ready to be melted into a puddle from the beauty of Miss Chloe… you’ve been warned!
We started off in an adorable flower-y and flow-y dress…

I didn’t want to send her home covered in delicious cake, so we had a little fun cleaning off in a bubble bath!

Nothin’ cuter than babies and bubbles.

Oh and to double the sweetness of this session, her mama works at Georgetown Cupcakes! YUM. She spoiled me with a box of those delicious little guys. Aren’t they so perfect? They taste just as amazing as they look.

I am feeling so blessed for all of the encouragement and love I receive from all of you. Every single like is appreciated. I truly can’t believe I get to wake up in the morning, enjoy being a mother at home with my amazing son, and also get to change peoples lives with something I created. It’s been such a long journey of discovering myself to get to where I am and I am no where near where I want to be yet! I have big dreams that I can see coming true slowly but surely. So stick with me gang! I am working on a lot of great things!

Music:  I just found a song by Jason Mraz and Travie McCoy that’s really catchy. It’s called Rough Water and it may or may not be about Titanic… And I also started collecting Christmas Music onto a Spotify playlist. I’m so excited for the holidays already! If it’s cold. I want it to be snowing.

Coffee: Not too much new happening in the coffee world, but I will remind everyone to try a White Mocha Pumpkin Spice because those are delicious (especially when you pair it with a pumpkin scone!)

Beautiful Belly | Maternity Photographer, Outer Banks, NC

Can you believe this is my first ‘official’ maternity session? I don’t know why I don’t stop every belly on the street and demand photos like these for them. I absolutely loved taking and editing these. It seems like forever when you’re actually pregnant, but in perspective, it’s only 9 short months of your whole life. It’s an amazing thing to be able to grow people and Allison looks fabulous doing it! She makes it look so easy and perfect even when she’s chasing after her son Asher, who has some of the most amazing baby blue eyes I’ve ever seen.
This sunlight was amazinggggg.
This is a fun one for me because it’s a little more editorial and candid looking. I love it!
I need to see this picture in a Ralph Lauren Kids magazine pronto. Can you believe those wavy blond locks blowing in the breeze!
Holy. Cow. This picture is one of my all time favorites. The bokeh in the background is ridiculous!
Those moments of calm where you just bond with that little person inside of you, wondering who they’re going to become. This one gives me chills and a warm fuzzy feeling at the same time.
I love that Asher is showing off his belly too!
Can you say gorgeous? Look at that perfect pregnancy glow!
*Bling*
This kid was running everywhere! It was a miracle to get these two in the same shot! But I’m so glad I did. These will be such a great memory to look back on. The time when it was just Asher, waiting for his little brother to arrive.
 Belly in the sunlight <3
So I’m not going to brag or anything, but I did feel this little guy hiccup at the end of the session. I can’t wait to meet him in a few short weeks! I hope you enjoyed these as much as I do! Pregnancy is a really beautiful, magical time and I’m so happy I could help Allison and her family cherish the quiet time they once had before their adorable number two comes along.
Don’t forget to check me out on Facebook and Instagram for behind the scenes looks, teasers and great stuff coming up with emiB (not to mention, super cute pictures of my little guy, Jesse!)

Extra Stuff! | Frederick, MD Photographer

Hey guys! So we’re going out of town today and heading down to the Outer Banks. Two of my best friends are getting married, maybe you’ve heard of them, I only post about them all the time! Haha. I had a few random little things to post about, so I’m making a ‘gumbo’ post of sorts.
As I was looking through Ashley and Eric’s completed engagement images I took last fall, I noticed something. They were my first engagement session ever, so I was making sure I had the quintessential poses and feel that I see all over my favorite photographers pages. But looking back, it didn’t do a great job showing off how fun and silly they are! So I went through all of the unedited ones and picked out a few really great ones, some were outtakes where they were laughing at each other, some I just wanted to see differently, and I re-edited them. Here are a few of my favorites:

Two days until their beautiful, amazing wedding!

And since this is an |Extra| post, I wanted to show off the little project a friend and I put together. This her adorable pup, Maddie and the layout we have planned for a lonely wall in her living room. The squares are 8x8s and they will be framed, but this is the basic idea. I had so much fun trying something new and Maddie was a fantastic client.

And in other news, fall mini’s are available! Such a great deal. Life moves so fast, and believe me, I know about keeping to a budget, but this session fits so nicely with both of those guidelines. Only 20 simple minutes and you get 5 beautiful images on a CD to use however you want! You can upload them to your favorite online holiday card designer, print a few wallets or small prints to frame for family, or get one made into a big canvas to hang over your fire place!
It doesn’t have to be fancy and stressful, I love to get you just how you are. Fall is all about scarves and boots and cider and changing leaves. Just show up and fall will work with you!

I hope you guys liked my crazy, random gumbo of a post. 🙂
Hopefully it will be lovely for their wedding, and for our weekend at the beach (probably the last nice one of the season).
Leave some love!
